About
I'm the Chief Technology Officer at SpinVFX, Canada's oldest and most decorated visual effects studios, where I lead technology strategy, engineering teams, and the studio's AI transformation roadmap.
My career spans over two decades — primarily in computer animation, with deep experience in visual effects. From hands-on pipeline TD work on animated features and episodic series to building scaleable pipelines and the infrastructure that let studios scale. I've worked across lookdev, lighting, rendering, compositing, shader development, and DevOps.
Today my focus is on the bigger picture: how studios harness AI responsibly, how content provenance and authenticity will reshape the industry, and how engineering culture is the difference between a studio that thrives and one that stalls.
I'm available for select speaking engagements and advisory work with studios, founders, and technology companies at the intersection of creative production and emerging technology.
Multi-agent AI systems for pipeline automation. Designing agentic workflows that scale studio operations without proportional headcount growth.
C2PA implementation for animation and VFX — embedding provenance manifests into media assets to establish chain-of-custody for studio deliverables.
Designing and building the software infrastructure that artists depend on daily. GitLab CI/CD, Rez packaging, hybrid cloud-to-render-farm connectivity.
Building policy frameworks for responsible AI adoption in creative studios. Three-tier approval systems aligned to EU AI Act and CA SB 942.
